These terms are written for clarity. They are not a substitute for legal advice. By using Greywell Institute, submitting an application, using an issued contact route, receiving documents, or paying a fee, you agree to these terms.
What Greywell Provides
Greywell Institute provides an online structured accountability programme for adults. A Term may include intake review, an issued contact route, Greywell App access where applicable, House Officer administration, reporting formats, personalised documents, checklist review, records, assignments, optional DNS accountability support, and, where selected and available, Governor review.
Greywell is administered remotely. It does not provide in-person services, physical supervision, therapy, medical treatment, legal advice, financial advice, crisis intervention, emergency support, or safeguarding services.

- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- You must participate voluntarily.
- You must be able to make your own safety, health, legal, employment, housing, and device decisions.
- You must not use Greywell where the structure would create a medical, legal, employment, domestic, or personal safety risk.
Intake, Admission, and Capacity
Submitting an application does not guarantee admission and does not begin a Term. Admission may be approved, declined, delayed, redirected to officer-governed structure, or placed on a waitlist. Governor-assigned Terms are capacity-limited.
A Term begins only after the required review, fee confirmation where applicable, pre-Term checklist readiness, issued contact route setup, and official start-date confirmation.
The Governor reads what you write in your charter, including your description of the House Officer you want, before it takes effect, and may amend it with a reason. After that it is between you and your House Officer. On an officer-governed Term the Governor does not read a change to your charter. It starts with your next week.

Fees are shown before checkout. Stripe processes card payments and issues payment receipts. Greywell does not store full card numbers. Any administrative fee recovery action is logged separately and does not replace Stripe as the payment receipt source.
Prices, Term types and features may change. A change never affects a Term already paid for.

Programme documents, Greywell App interactions, Telegram bot interactions where applicable, dashboard records, checklist evidence, DNS declarations, partner events, infractions, appeals, welfare reports, account requests, and Governor actions may be recorded to administer the Term. Document links may use access tokens and may expire or become unavailable after completion, exit, archive, or revocation.
The issued contact route may be the Greywell App, email before app access, Telegram, or another route expressly issued by Greywell. Telegram is available as an optional route for those who prefer it. Greywell may retire it in future; if it does, you will have at least 30 days' notice and help moving to the app. Telegram is a third-party platform. You are responsible for using the correct account, keeping your own accounts and devices secure, and understanding the terms and privacy practices of any third-party service used.

You remain responsible for your own safety, premises, devices, work obligations, health decisions, travel, household obligations, and compliance with applicable law. Greywell instructions, documents, contact-route messages, or assignments must not be followed where they would create risk or conflict with professional advice, law, employment duties, medical needs, or safety obligations.

Greywell App access is issued only after the relevant admission or account step. App access may be revoked, closed, or reissued for security, withdrawal, archive, misuse, or operational reasons.
The app may queue certain submissions if connectivity fails. A queued submission is not fully received by Greywell until it is successfully sent and recorded. Participants remain responsible for checking whether required submissions were received, late, missed, rejected, or awaiting review.

Participants may request withdrawal, app account closure, record correction, a copy of records, or deletion where permitted through the app or by contacting support. Withdrawal or app closure stops active participation when processed, but it may not erase records Greywell must keep for audit, payment, safety, security, legal, or operational reasons.

Partner involvement is optional. It requires applicant nomination, partner consent, Governor approval, and role-specific access. A partner may be declined, limited, archived, or revoked. Partner consent may be withdrawn.
Partner access is limited to the approved role and does not create authority over the participant's life outside the Greywell Term. Partner access closes when the Term ends, the record is archived, consent is withdrawn, or the Governor revokes access.
Back to the contentsSuspension, Exit, Archive, and Revocation
Greywell may suspend, exit, archive, restart, decline, or revoke access where continuation is unsuitable, unsafe, outside scope, abusive, technically compromised, or inconsistent with the programme's operating boundaries. Participants may request exit. Completion documents are not issued for incomplete Terms.
10.2 Ending a Term early. Greywell may end a Term before its scheduled end. That decision rests with the Governor alone. Four circumstances are followed by a review. One ends a Term at once.
10.3 Not establishing. If your first phase ends and your record does not show you ready, the Governor reviews whether the Term continues.
10.4 A pattern you chose. Breaking a rule deliberately, or declining to account for a matter when you are asked to, is recorded against your Term. Where such records recur within a Term, the Governor reviews whether the Term continues. The point at which that happens is stated in your programme documents.
10.5 Contact you do not answer. If you stop responding, your House Officer will first confirm your welfare, and then ask whether you are ready to carry on. If that question goes unanswered beyond the period stated in your programme documents, your Term is suspended and the Governor reviews whether it ends.
10.6 Your face in a live inspection. In a live inspection the Governor watches through a camera. The Governor is never shown your face, and you are never shown the Governor. Holding your face, or anything that identifies you, deliberately in view ends the Term at once, with no refund. A slip is a slip and costs nothing.
10.7 Requesting a stand-down. You may ask for a stand-down at any time, naming the date you will return. A stand-down pauses your Term. It is not a matter for review, and nothing is recorded against you for asking.
10.8 Notice. A phase may run longer than its floor; anything that changes about your Term is told to you. A Term can be paused automatically. It is never ended without the Governor.
10.9 Misusing Report. The first time, a written warning that names the rule. The second time, the Term ends and the unused part is refunded.
10.10 Days added. On a heavy default the Governor may add days to your Term, never past the furthest it can run. How many is stated in your programme documents. If you appeal that default and it is approved, the days come off your Term.
Back to the contentsWelfare, Safety, and No Emergency Use
The app may include an official welfare or safety reporting surface. Those reports are recorded for Governor review. Greywell is not appropriate for urgent distress, self-harm risk, domestic safety concerns, medical emergencies, legal emergencies, or any situation requiring immediate professional support. If you need urgent help, contact local emergency services or an appropriate professional service.
Greywell does not know your name or where you live, and it cannot send anyone to you. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number yourself.
Back to the contentsRefunds and Cancellation
Fees are stated before purchase on the fees page and at checkout. Payment is taken through Stripe; Greywell does not receive or store your card details.
Before a Term commences, you may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund of fees paid for that Term. Write to [email protected] from the address associated with your intake.
Once a Term has commenced, fees are earned and are not refundable, except as set out below. This includes Terms that are later suspended, exited early (except as below), or ended by revocation, whether at your request or by decision of the Governor. The programme is delivered continuously from the first day of a Term, which is why commencement is the point at which the fee is earned.
If Greywell fails you. Terms are non-refundable once begun. There are four exceptions. If Greywell stops working for 24 hours or more, you choose: the lost days added to your Term at no cost, or you end your Term and we refund the part you have not used. Stopped working means your House Officer does not answer and your directives do not arrive. If you leave for your safety, your health, a death or your family, we refund the part you have not used. Nobody asks for proof. If the Governor offers you the way out, we refund the part you have not used. If Greywell does not deliver something you paid for, we refund the part you have not used. A partner who loses their place through no conduct of their own is refunded the same way. A refund is always rounded up to the whole dollar.
Paid extensions and partner access fees follow the same rule: refundable before the period they cover begins, not refundable once it has begun.
This does not affect any right you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded by agreement. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us before raising a dispute with your bank — errors are corrected promptly.

Greywell Institute is operated by an individual trading as Greywell Institute. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Greywell agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Greywell.
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in force.
