There are five ways, from a softer day to leaving for good. Using one is never held against you.

Five ways to stop.

Each is heavier than the one above it. You choose which. Nobody chooses for you.

You call it yourself and the day softens. Its optional things are dropped and nothing is counted.

It ends with the day, and you may lift it sooner. Asking for ease never costs you later.

Conditioning is reduced for pain, injury or illness. It is not reduced for a low mood.

One press stops everything. The Governor is told at once.

Your House Officer checks on you straight away. It checks again later in case the first message never reached you.

You may end it yourself when you are ready. It works on every day of a Term and inside every scene.

You ask and you name the day you return. Nobody has to grant it. It begins at your next midnight and you may take it back before then.

It runs up to 7 days at a time and 14 in a Term. The days are given back at the end.

You need no reason and nothing is recorded against you for asking.

For your safety, your health, a death or your family. It is one tap and nobody asks which of the four it is.

The Term pauses that instant. You are always believed and the unused days come back.

You may ask to come back before it closes.

For any reason or none. You press Leave Greywell, and 48 hours later you confirm or change your mind.

Nobody can refuse you. You are invited to say why and never required to.

The fee is not returned for a change of heart. What comes back

If you go quiet
The Recall. Your House Officer checks that you are well before it asks anything else.

Your body is never a fault
Hunger, tiredness, pain, illness and sleep go to welfare. They are never recorded against you.

Words that sound like crisis
A fixed check reads what you write. It does not rely on an AI noticing, and what it catches reaches the Governor.
Letters are checked. If the check cannot run, the letter is held.

After anything heavy
Aftercare follows every consequence and every scene. You are never made to answer it.
